The National Ploughing Championships, Ireland’s largest outdoor and agricultural festival, has chosen Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to support this year’s event.
As the official motoring sponsor, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will provide a fleet of its brand new pick-up, the Amarok, to support the championships off-road transportation needs.
A total of 15 Amarok vehicles will be supplied to the National Ploughing Association organisers during the week-long event and will provide an essential support for key personnel across the 700 acres site.
The 4x4 Amarok, which was launched earlier this year, is Volkswagen’s first double-cab pick-up and is becoming a popular alternative within the farming community.
Managing director of the National Ploughing Association, Anna May McHugh, said: “We are delighted to receive Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles support at this year’s event.
“The Amarok is a perfect fit for our event and will be a huge benefit to the exhibition team during the site build and throughout the event.”
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will also have a stand at the show featuring a display of vehicles for visitors to closely inspect, including the debut of the Sportline Transporter plus a Highline Amarok, a Crafter GP with Luton body conversion, a Caddy van and a Caddy Maxi Life.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles sales and marketing manager, Niall Phillips, added: “We are delighted to have secured the sponsorship deal at this year’s National Ploughing Championships.
