The timeless design of the Multivan not only follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, but also reinterprets the traditional design. A chrome strip runs centrally from the headlights to the rear of the Multivan, emphasizing the distinctive two-tone finish. The refined lighting design with the IQ.Light LED matrix headlights is complemented on the exterior by the standard LED taillights and the projection light – because your Multivan welcomes you and projects the Multivan silhouette onto the floor as you enter. The new exterior appearance is complemented by a large range of colors and rims, including the new 19-inch rims, allowing you to personalize your Multivan completely.

The new IQ. Light LED matrix headlights with LED daytime running lights are not only an eye-catching feature that makes the Multivan stand out from the crowd, but they're also incredibly intelligent. This is because the lighting control system detects the driving circumstances and changes the dipped beam to the main beam. The functional equipment also incorporates "Dynamic Light Assist," a glare-free dynamic main beam control, which ensures optimal road illumination. When the IQ.Light senses oncoming traffic, it may turn off individual light beams to avoid blinding oncoming vehicles. And the light doesn't just think. The dynamic cornering light illuminates the bend even before you turn, thanks to advanced camera and radar sensors. As a result, the clever technology ensures that you can focus solely on what matters: driving.

The lit chrome strip on the radiator grille makes a statement. We’re carrying on the Volkswagen brand’s lighting language with the chrome strip between the front headlights, which is being used for the first time in a Commercial Vehicle. As a result, the play of light in the front is not only eye-catching, but also a distinguishing element - and anyone looking in the rear view mirror at night will immediately recognise that the Multivan is approaching.

The Multivan's interior design is interlaced with high-quality materials, giving it the polished feel of a premium vehicle. The free-floating, optimized instrument panel with its digital display offers a neat, high-class appearance. The standard multifunction leather steering wheel, with 100% Tiptronic, leaves virtually nothing to be desired. Furthermore, the Multivan has an interior to fit your preferences. You can choose the colours in which you want your interior to glow with the multicolor ambient lighting system. Whether a white light for discovering lost goods, a warm yellow tone for a quiet evening, or a brilliant play of hues - Your vehicle, your lighting design.

Manoeuvrable and suitable for urban use

Motion becomes dynamism

The Multivan offers improved handling with dynamic ride comfort at the premium car level. With up to 4,053 litres of luggage space and a towing capacity of up to 2,000kg, the Multivan is ready for journeys long and short. The base version is now longer and wider, measuring 1,941 mm wide and 4,973 mm long, with a wheelbase measuring 3,124 mm long. While the exterior dimensions are somewhat narrower, the interior has nevertheless gained in width. This means that the Multivan also plays to its strengths in the city – and, especially in combination with the numerous driver assistance systems, can be manoeuvred through the urban hustle and bustle like a passenger car.

Getting in and out

Two sliding doors - open keylessly and drive off

The Multivan now comes with two sliding doors as standard. We've optimized entry and exit to match. The Easy Open option, which allows you to open the sliding doors and tailgate using gesture control, is available upon request. Simply place your foot beneath the convenience opening sensor, wait for the doors to open automatically, and take a seat. The keyless start and locking system "Keyless Advanced" then offers a further plus in convenience - because your Multivan recognizes you. This means you can start your Multivan and drive off without using your key.

Improved security at a high level

Your Multivan is not only extremely comfortable and well-connected, but it is also extremely safe. Because they are exceptionally smart and operate with foresight, the new IQ.Light LED matrix headlights 5 with high beam control and cornering lights illuminate the road even better. Furthermore, there are more than 20 assistance and safety systems. In connection with the automatic distance control ACC, Car2X, for example, is standard on board, allowing interaction with other networked vehicles and the networked infrastructure in order to warn of potential threats at an early stage. The 360-degree "Area View" 4 makes its debut in the Multivan, which can provide a true all-around view from a bird's eye perspective. This also raises safety to a new level when parking. Powertrain options

In addition to the standard automatic gearbox, the Multivan is now also available with plug-in hybrid drive, with which you can enjoy a completely new Multivan driving experience. With the Multivan eHybrid, you can drive through the city in purely electric mode, locally CO₂-free and almost silently. At the same time, thanks to the 13 kWh (gross capacity) lithium-ion battery, the range is designed so that you can cover your average daily distances using electric power alone. In the Multivan eHybrid, the system power of the electric motor plus turbo petrol engine (TSI) is 160 kW / 215 hp. Enjoy the new driving experience – with a completely new Multivan ride comfort and handling at the premium car level.

An absolute novelty in the Multivan is the particularly large, two-part panoramic sunroof - because it has never been seen before in a Multivan. The resulting even greater sense of space and also a slightly increased, real interior height ensure a light-flooded interior during the day and unforgettable moments under the starry sky at night.

Experience the connectivity of tomorrow right now, because Amazon Alexa is also on board as a digital voice assistant. And that's not all: the standard Car2X, which enables communication with other vehicles and the networked infrastructure, provides early warning of dangers. Inductive charging for your smartphone, internet access and numerous USB-C interfaces in the cab and passenger compartment also give you a particularly convenient technological setup. In addition, the standard mobile online services from We Connect and We Connect Plus make your everyday life easier. The Digital Cockpit with its 10.25-inch (26.03 cm) color display, head-up display, standard traffic sign recognition and infotainment system with its standard 10-inch (25.4 cm) color display ensures infotainment by the latest standards. The premium sound system from Harman Kardon with 14 high-performance speakers also takes entertainment to a new level.
