The new Caddy California

The small kitchen in the rear of the new Caddy California offers you practical bench spaces. Two heavy-duty drawers ensure that you always have your cooking utensils on hand when preparing little delicacies on the single burner gas stove. The kitchenette offers a standing height of two metres when the tailgate is open. Combined with the attached tent, you have a protected and pleasant cooking area. The gas cylinder required for cooking (not included in the scope of delivery) is hermetically sealed in the module and provides space for a filling weight of approx. 1.85 kg.

The new Caddy California sports another optional feature for even more space and an outdoor feeling: the rear tent with large window surfaces. Set up in moments thanks to the air poles and pump, it can also be used as a free-standing tent and sleeps four to six people. The tent can easily be extended and connects directly to the rear of the vehicle. In addition, it can also be detached if you want to take a drive. This ensures that you always enjoy great freedom and maximum variability.

Clear, high-contrast images appear on the display in the Digital Cockpit, which has a 25.4 cm diagonal screen measurement. The driver can choose between two different screen configurations. These are selected using the View button on the new multifunction steering wheel. In the first configuration, the rev counter and speedometer are displayed interactively as round instruments; an individually configurable level is displayed in the middle of the screen – showing features such as your smartphone’s phone book. In the top-of-the-range version, the Digital Cockpit merges with the optional premium infotainment system to become the Innovision Cockpit with countless additional functions.

When it comes to technology and equipment, the exterior of the Caddy California – which can house up to five seats – stands out due to a number of new features: these include the optional electric closing assist for the sliding doors and tailgate plus an extra large panoramic roof with a 1.4 m² glass panel that stretches across the first and second row of seats. The new Caddy California is now also available with new alloy wheels in sizes up to 18 inches as well as new LED headlights and LED tail light clusters – which come as standard in the top-of-the-range version. A brand new feature on board: the Keyless Access starting and locking system (Kessy for short).

The new Caddy California will be launched with two state-of-the-art 2.0-litre turbo diesel engines (TDI with 55 kW/75 bhp to 90 kW/122 bhp). These are the next stage of engine evolution and already fulfil the 2021 Euro 6 emissions standard in 2020. All of the engines equipped with particulate filters. Depending on the engine version, the new Caddy California’s fuel consumption can be reduced by up to twelve percent compared to its predecessor.
